Beginnings

There is something very daunting about a blank page. There are so many possibilities presented and so many expectations. I sit here on my Mac in the basement, listening to my cat meow (she always does when I am in the basement) and to Rush Limbaugh informing me of the days latest governmental insanity. These sounds are the wallpaper of my moment here.
Kim, I thank you and Becky for opening up the world of blogging. I am not sure what I will do with it yet, I have no chickens and I am not a newlywed who is setting up a home for the first time. So without those things of interest I find myself wondering what on earth I am ever going to find interesting enough to post?
I titled my blog the way I have because I live at almost 7,000 feet and the great Rocky Mountains seem to frame my day from morning to evening. The massive rocky facets of Pikes Peak always beg me to take one more look, one more glance, and almost always reveal a new detail that I haven't seen before. Funny how I can study something almost daily and still find nuances that sometimes leave me awestruck. I have a sneaking suspicion many of the things in life are that way. I have only scratched the surface. I have only taken my first casual glance at so many things around me. It is time to open my eyes and really see.

  2. Hey Mary, Very nice blog, I have added it to my blog lists to follow. I can't wait to read more. You will be surprised at how much you can find to talk about. Talking about the beauty of Colorado is a good start though. Plus along with your art work, I love reading what you write.
